Fire Doors

Log fire door checks and evidence, on your schedule — record, don’t grade.

A register of every fire door in every house, and a dated record of each time you looked at one. Measurements, notes, photos and a video attach to the check that produced them, so you can show what you did and when. It records what you found; it never tells you a door passed or failed.

What this tool does

Register per house

First setup creates a door for every bedroom the property has, plus a Kitchen and a Laundry room door. Rename, add or remove doors to match the building — remove one and it stays removed, even if you re-run setup.

Dated checks

The date is the only thing a check needs. Top, side and bottom gap measurements, and a note, are all optional — record as much or as little as the visit produced.

Nothing is judged

A 40mm gap saves exactly like a 3mm one. There is no tolerance, no pass, no fail and no traffic light, because the published gap figures are guidance and timber moves through the year.

Photo and video evidence

Attach photos and a video to a specific check, so the evidence sits with the visit that produced it rather than in a folder somewhere. Re-uploading the video supersedes the old one; photos accumulate.

Your interval, or none

Pick monthly, quarterly, six-monthly or annual per organisation and the tool works out when each door is next due. Set it to Off and due dates and reminders disappear entirely — nothing here is compulsory.

A nudge, not a verdict

The Home tile counts doors you have not looked at within your own chosen interval. It means "go and look", never "this door failed something".

Reminder email

A scheduled email lists the doors that are due, at your chosen cadence. It says which doors to look at and nothing about whether any door is acceptable. Off means no email.

History stays

Deleting a door archives it, so its check history and the evidence attached to it survive. You can still show what was recorded on a door that has since been replaced.
